Harry Lennix<\/strong>, known for his role as Dresser in Robert Townsend<\/strong>‘s classic urban film ‘The Five Heartbeats<\/strong>,’ is up for a role in the new Superman<\/strong> film, ‘Man of Steel<\/strong>.’<\/p>\n

Latinoreview<\/a> is reporting that the Chicago native, along with Danish actress Connie Nielsen<\/strong>, are in contention for supporting role in Zack Snyder<\/strong>‘s reboot of the comic book film.<\/p>\n

Apparently Facebook’s Superman: Man of Steel page<\/a> has gotten their hands on the production sheet and Nielsen is up for the role of Lara, Superman’s mom.<\/p>\n

It hasn’t specified which role Lennix was offered.<\/p>\n

Russell Crowe<\/strong> will play Superman’s biological father Jor-El. Interesting enough, Nielsen and Crowe both starred in Ridley Scott<\/strong>‘s Oscar winning film, ‘Gladiator<\/strong>.’ Lennix was also featured in Crowe’s film, ‘State of Play<\/strong>.’<\/p>\n

Film is due out December 2012.<\/p>\n
