will co-star in the film adaptation of <strong>Marie Phillips<\/strong>\u2019 2007 novel <strong>&#8216;Gods Behaving Badly<\/strong>.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Phillips\u2019 bestselling comic novel centers on a world where fallen gods are forced to live and work like regular people &#8211; as phone sex operators, dog walkers, and busy-bodies nosing into each other\u2019s affairs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Beach Films <\/strong>stated that the film, adapted by <strong>Josh Goldfaden<\/strong> and <strong>Marc Turtletaub<\/strong>, takes a turn from the original story set in London and instead takes place in a brownstone in New York City.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-9915\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/07\/phylicia-rashad-rosie-perez-nelsan-ellis-gods-behaving-badly\/nelsan-ellis\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-9915\" title=\"nelsan ellis\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 232 have been cast as god\/desses Demeter, Persephone and Dionysus, respectively, alongside <strong>Christopher Walken<\/strong> as Zeus, <strong>Sharon Stone<\/strong> as Aphrodite, <strong>Oliver Platt<\/strong> as Apollo, <strong>Edie Falco<\/strong> as Artemis, <strong>Gideon Glick<\/strong> as Eros, <strong>John Turturro<\/strong> as Hades, and <strong>Henry Zebrowski<\/strong> as Hermes. <strong>Alicia Silverstone<\/strong> also stars as a mortal who gets caught up in the plight of the gods.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by Turtletaub, production is scheduled to begin shooting in mid-July.<\/p>\n<p>Rashad last appeared in T<strong>yler Perry<\/strong>&#8216;s film adaptation of &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2010\/09\/for-colored-girls\/\">For Colored Girls<\/a><\/strong>, and also appears in the yet-to-be-seen <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2010\/12\/frankie-and-alice-halle-berry-geoffrey-sax-interview\/\">Halle Berry<\/a><\/strong> film, &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2010\/11\/frankie-and-alice-2\/\">Frankie and Alice<\/a><\/strong>.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Perez appeared as herself in the 2010 <strong>Will Ferrell<\/strong> comedy, &#8216;<strong><strong>The Other Guys<\/strong><\/strong>,&#8217; while Nelson appeared opposite <strong>Diane Lane<\/strong> in 2010&#8217;s &#8216;Secretariat.&#8217; He&#8217;s also appears <strong>Viola Davis<\/strong> in the upcoming film, &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/04\/the-help\/\">The
