Among the many Black actors there to promote either their latest film or TV series, <strong>Idris Elba<\/strong> came out to support not one, but three films he has coming up, &#8216;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/07\/ghost-rider-spirit-of-vengeance\/\">Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance<\/a><\/strong>,&#8217; Ridley Scott&#8217;s &#8216;<strong>Prometheus<\/strong>,&#8217; and Guillermo del Toro&#8217;s &#8216;<strong>Pacific Rim<\/strong>,&#8217; in which Elba plays the lead role.<\/p>\n<p>Elba spoke to <strong>Blackfilm.com<\/strong> about his work in &#8216;<strong>Ghost Rider 2<\/strong>.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do you like being at San Diego Comic Con again? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba:<\/strong> I love coming to Comic Con. I love seeing the costumes. I love seeing the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11080\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/07\/sdcc-idris-elba-interview\/ghost-rider-cast\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload aligncenter size-full wp-image-11080\" title=\"Ghost Rider cast\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 580 387'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Ghost-Rider-cast.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How would you describe your character in \u2018Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance?\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba:<\/strong> He is described as a sort of warrior\/monk, but he&#8217;s a warrior\/monk that rides a motorcycle, drinks wine and wears long leather jackets. He&#8217;s cool. He&#8217;s a cool character, but he&#8217;s also a little bit more comedic than my audience is used to seeing me and he&#8217;s also sort of like\u2026action. There&#8217;s a lot of action in this film for me. So that&#8217;s good, good fun.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many stunts were you able to do on your own?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba:<\/strong> Honestly, I did most of the stunts that you&#8217;ll see aside from one or two in the film. So, I did the jumps. I did the riding stuff and the gun shots and all of that stuff.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11081\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/07\/sdcc-idris-elba-interview\/ghost-rider-idris-elba\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-11081\" title=\"Ghost Rider - Idris Elba\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 224'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Ghost-Rider-Idris-Elba-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How good are you on a motorcycle?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba: <\/strong>I&#8217;m all right. I&#8217;m better than I was in the beginning. When they took me around I fell off once.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you bought one in real life?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba: <\/strong>I&#8217;m going to, believe it or not. I&#8217;m actually going to go buy a bike. I&#8217;m not sure what bike. It might be a Harley. I like a big bike to sit back. But in this film I had an old Ducati bike that was sort of vintage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How was working with Nic Cage?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba:<\/strong> Really good, a really good guy. He&#8217;s a smart actor and very passionate and very involved. Even though he&#8217;s playing a character from a comic book and his Ghost Rider character is CGI, he puts his whole effort into it, his whole life into it.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-11082\" href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/2011\/07\/sdcc-idris-elba-interview\/idris-elba-and-nic-cage\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-11082\" title=\"Idris Elba and Nic Cage\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 246'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Idris-Elba-and-Nic-Cage-300x246.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"246\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>You also are promoting two other films, &#8216;Prometheus&#8217; and &#8216;Pacific Rim&#8217;. How is it promoting three projects at once?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba: <\/strong>To be fair, &#8216;Pacific Rim&#8217; is the only other film that I came with here. &#8216;Prometheus&#8217; was yesterday and I wasn&#8217;t a part of that, but I&#8217;m just proud of it. It&#8217;s been a phenomenal year for me. I&#8217;ve worked really hard and hopefully next year I&#8217;ll have some really big films for my audience to see.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s a big role for you working in &#8216;Pacific Rim&#8217; with Guillermo del Toro. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba: <\/strong>Yeah, it is. It&#8217;s a central character in that film, but essentially the film is about robots versus humans. I mean, monsters versus humans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With so many projects you are definitely doing, was Tarantino\u2019s \u2018Django Unchained\u2019 ever a consideration?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Idris Elba:<\/strong> It was, absolutely, yeah. I sat down with Quentin and had a great time.
