This latest acquisition covers North American rights including home video, television, digital and VOD to the comedy featuring <strong>Stacey Dash<\/strong> (Single Ladies), <strong>Reagan Gomez Preston <\/strong>(Beauty Shop), <strong>Hosea Chanchez<\/strong> (The Game), <strong>Wesley Jonathan <\/strong>(Crossover) and <strong>Terrell Owens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>the film will be released theatrically by Datari Turner Productions in conjunction with AMC Independent on February 3, 2012.<\/strong> The announcement was made by Bill Bromiley, Chief Acquisitions Officer for Image Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re extremely pleased to add Dysfunctional Friends to our ever-growing One Village library,&#8221; said Bromiley. &#8220;Audiences will love the story that Datari Turner has penned.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Producers-Greg-Carter-Gordon-Bijelonic-Datari-Turner.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-16780\" title=\"Producers Greg Carter, Gordon Bijelonic, Datari Turner\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 225'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/Producers-Greg-Carter-Gordon-Bijelonic-Datari-Turner-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Datari Turner has put together an amazing cast that was second-to-none for an independent urban film,&#8221; commented <strong>Brett Dismuke<\/strong>, Sr. VP of One Village. &#8220;I had to have this film.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dysfunctional Friends<\/strong> is a comedy\/drama about ten college friends who reunite when their larger-than-life friend, Dennis (Keith Robinson) unexpectedly dies from a freak skydiving accident. The film has been dubbed a modern day version of The Big Chill. It was written and directed by Corey Grant.
