Terry Crews<\/strong>, who’s currently on the big screen with ‘The Expendables 2’ <\/strong>and on the small screen in HBO’s ‘The Newsroom,’ <\/strong>has joined the cast of ‘Cloudy 2: Revenge of the Leftovers,’<\/strong> the sequel to ‘Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.’ <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Michigan native joins Bill Hader<\/strong> and Anna Fari<\/strong>s, who return as the two leads, inventor Flint Lockwood and weather girl Sam Sparks. Also back are James Caan<\/strong> as Flint\u2019s dad, Andy Samberg<\/strong> as a local celebrity, Neil Patrick Harris<\/strong> as a gummy-loving monkey, Benjamin Bratt as Spark\u2019s cameraman.<\/p>\n

Crews will play a cop in the town of Swallow Falls.<\/p>\n

Will Forte<\/strong>, who had a role in the first movie, is back in a new role, that of Chester V, an inventor and idol of Lockwood\u2019s who invites him to join others bright minds at a technology company.<\/p>\n

As previously reported by THR, Kristen Schaal<\/strong> is also in the cast, playing “highly evolved orangutan with a human brain, who is also devious, manipulative and likes to wear lipstick,” according to SPA.<\/p>\n

Cloudy 2 is being directed by Cody Cameron<\/strong>, a story artist on movies such as Shrek, Madagascar and Cloudy, and Kris Pearn<\/strong>, who served as head of story on Cloudy as well as story supervisor on Arthur Christmas. Kirk Bodyfelt<\/strong> is producing.<\/p>\n

Cloudy 2 is set for release in 3D on February 7, 2014.<\/p>\n

According to the studio, Cloudy 2 picks up where the first movie left off, with Lockwood discovering that his evil machine which turns water into food “is still operating and now creating mutant food beasts. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world\u2026 again!”<\/p>\n
