Larenz Tate<\/strong>, who recently recurred on Showtime\u2019s House of Lies<\/strong> as Marty\u2019s (Don Cheadle<\/strong>) brother Malcolm, will co-star opposite Craig Robinson<\/strong> in NBC\u2019s single-camera starring Robinson and executive produced by Greg Daniels<\/strong> and Owen Ellickson,<\/strong> who wrote the script.<\/p>\n

The untitled project centers on talented musician Craig (Robinson) with rough edges who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school, where he encounters teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.<\/p>\n

Tate, repped by APA, Brillstein Entertainment and John Meigs, will play Robinson\u2019s brother, Kevin, who is also a partner in their band, The Filthy Gentlemen. A talented and charismatic lady-killer, he\u2019s never held a regular job and hasn\u2019t woken up before 11 AM.<\/p>\n

Prior to House of Lies, Tate starred as part<\/a> of the main cast in season’s 4-7 of FX Network’s Rescue Me<\/strong> as Bart “Black Shawn” Johnston. His film credits include Love Jones, Dead Presidents, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Biker Boyz, A Man Apart<\/strong>, and Crash<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
