The Festival will be  held in Miami Beach, FL, June 19-23, 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/ABFF-2013-pic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-full wp-image-40382\" title=\"ABFF 2013 pic\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 250'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/ABFF-2013-pic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Inevitable  Defeat of Mister and Pete<\/strong>, from Codeblack Films, a LIONSGATE company,  opens the festival, featuring a stellar cast including <strong>Skylan Brooks,  Ethan Dizon, Jordin Sparks, Jeffrey Wright<\/strong> and <strong>Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje<\/strong> with <strong>Anthony Mackie<\/strong> and  Academy Award\u00ae-winner <strong>Jennifer Hudson<\/strong>. The film, directed by <strong>George Tillman, Jr.<\/strong>, was co-executive produced by GRAMMY\u00ae Award-winning singer<strong> Alicia  Keys<\/strong>. This unique and affecting film is a coming of age story about two  boys trying to survive the summer in their Brooklyn housing projects  without parental supervision.<\/p>\n<p>Closing the festival on  June 23 is the feature film<strong> Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain<\/strong> starring actor  and comedian <strong>Kevin Hart<\/strong> (Think Like A Man, BET\u2019s \u201cReal Husbands of  Hollywood\u201d).  Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain, filmed at Madison Square  Garden, captures one of the fast-talking, high-energy performances on  Hart\u2019s comedy tour of the same name. The 2012 international, multi-city  comedy concert tour generated over $32.7 million in ticket sales and  surpassed the then #1 urban comedy tour of all time, The Kings of  Comedy. Faced with more than any child can be expected to bear, the resourceful Mister nevertheless feels he is an unstoppable force against seemingly unmovable obstacles. But what really keeps the pair in the survival game is much more Mister\u2019s vulnerability than his larger-than-life attitude. Jordan<\/strong>), a 22-year-old Bay Area resident who wakes up on the morning of December 31, 2008 and feels something in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure what it is, he takes it as a sign to get a head start on his resolutions: being a better son to his mother (Octavia Spencer), whose birthday falls on New Year\u2019s Eve, being a better partner to his girlfriend Sophina (Melonie Diaz), who he hasn\u2019t been completely honest with as of late, and being a better father to Tatiana (Ariana Neal), their beautiful four year-old daughter. Crossing paths with friends, family, and strangers, Oscar starts out well, but as the day goes on, he realizes that change is not going to come easily. His resolve takes a tragic turn, however, when BART officers shoot him in cold blood at the Fruitvale subway stop on New Year\u2019s Day. Oscar\u2019s life and tragic death would shake the Bay Area \u2013 and the entire nation \u2013 to its very core.<\/p>\n<p>The film was produced by  Significant Productions, Academy Award-winner  Forest Whitaker\u2019s  production company, and has proven to be a  breakthrough role for Michael  B. Jordan (Red Tails), who is best known  for his acclaimed turn on  HBO\u2019s \u201cThe Wire,\u201d and Academy-Award winner  Octavia Spencer (The Help)  rounds out the cast as Grant\u2019s mother. Both of his shows at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden and his performance at London\u2019s O2 Arena sold out, as well as his appearances in Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Amsterdam. The tour concluded this past New Year\u2019s Eve in Los Angeles by selling out the Staples Center and grossing over $1 million in revenue in one night. Anthoni is set on avenging the death of his close friend even if it means going up against the neighborhood\u2019s most notorious thug.<\/p>\n<p>Full Circle is the feature film directorial debut for <strong>Solvan \u2018Slick\u2019 Naim<\/strong>, a 23-year-old Algerian-American rapper and music video director from Bushwick, Brooklyn. Solvan co-directed, wrote, produced, and makes his acting debut as Anthoni (with an \u2018i\u2019 not a \u2018y\u2019) in this urban action tale, which takes place almost entirely in his very own neighborhood.
