\"Terry<\/a>Lifetime TV <\/strong>has provided Blackfilm.com with an exclusive look at the cast of their upcoming Original Movie, ‘A Day Late and\u00a0A Dollar Short<\/strong>,’<\/strong> which premieres Saturday, April 19, at 8pm ET\/PT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Based on The New York Times bestseller by Terry McMillan <\/strong>(Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back), A Day Late and A Dollar Short is the uplifting story of a mother who tries to help her dysfunctional family through life\u2019s ups and downs.<\/p>\n

Starring Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Whoopi Goldberg<\/strong> (Ghost, The Color Purple, The View) and Golden Globe winner Ving Rhames<\/strong>, the film also stars Mekhi Phifer, Kimberly Elise, Anika Noni Rose<\/strong> and Tichina Arnold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In A Day Late and a Dollar Short, when irascible matriarch Viola Price (Goldberg) learns that her next asthma attack will likely kill her, she is determined to fix her fractured family before she leaves this world, from her relationship with her husband to the lives of her four children and grandchildren. While on this quest, she must contend with sibling rivalry, teen pregnancy and drug addiction \u2013 and that is only one child. Additionally, her jailbird son needs to learn how to be a better father, her granddaughter is in bigger trouble than her daughter is willing to admit and Viola\u2019s estranged husband needs saving from his scheming younger girlfriend. It\u2019s the kind of meddling that the Price family hasn\u2019t experienced from Viola in decades, and she won\u2019t have an easy time bending her loved ones to her will.<\/p>\n

Produced by Ostar Productions, the film is directed by Stephen Tolkin<\/strong>, who also serves as an executive producer along with Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Leonardis, Jeffrey Hayes<\/strong>, and Bill Haber<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
