\"\"<\/a>The CW<\/strong> has posted a featurette of Jesse L. Martin<\/strong>\u00a0and Candice Patton<\/strong>\u00a0from their upcoming TV series, The Flash<\/strong>, which premieres this fall.<\/p>\n

Grant Gustin<\/strong>\u00a0will play Barry Allen\/The Flash, who first appeared in Arrow\u2019s two-part winter finale. Barry is described a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who arrives in Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past.<\/p>\n

Martin will portray Detective West, an honest, blue-collar cop who is a surrogate father to Barry. A soulful, funny and caring father to Iris (played by Patton), Barry\u2019s potential love interest. West came up through the foster care system and took Barry in after his mother\u2019s slaying and father\u2019s imprisonment. He believes in Barry and supports his efforts to prove his father\u2019s innocence.<\/p>\n

Arrow co-creators\u00a0Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg<\/strong>\u00a0as well as director\u00a0David Nutter<\/strong>\u00a0are behind the potential spinoff. Berlanti, Kreisberg and DC Entertainment\u2019s\u00a0Geoff Johns<\/strong>, who\u2019s also a writer\/consultant on Arrow, will pen the script for Warner Bros. Television; Nutter, who directed the Arrow pilot, will also helm the pilot.<\/p>\n

Long known for his role as NYPD Detective Ed Green on the NBC\u2019s drama TV series\u00a0Law & Order, Martin\u00a0<\/strong>appeared in the second and final season of NBC\u2019s\u00a0Smash<\/strong>,<\/strong> and is widely known for his role as Tom Collins in Broadway\u2019s\u00a0Rent\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>and its subsequent feature film adaptation.<\/p>\n

Patton<\/strong>, who was last seen playing Tori on BET\u2019s \u2018The Game<\/strong>,\u2019 also had\u00a0appearances on\u00a0\u201cRizzoli & Isles,\u201d \u201cCSI: Miami,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
