Emmy Award winner Sherri Shepard <\/strong>will take over the role of wicked stepmother Madame in the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella<\/strong>, producers announced Aug. 5. She joins actress Keke Palmer<\/strong>, who will step into the title role in early September.<\/p>\n

Both actresses co-starred in the Lifetime film, Abducted: The Carlina White Story<\/strong> in 2012.<\/p>\n

Shepard, who departs “The View”<\/strong> on Aug. 8 after serving as co-host for eight years, will begin performances as Madame Sept. 9. Producers announced Aug. 4 that actress, singer and talk-show host Keke Palmer would also make her Broadway debut in the show’s title role on the same date.<\/p>\n

Shepard is also known for her work as Angie Jordan on “30 Rock,” <\/strong>as well as her Lifetime series “Sherri.” <\/strong>Her screen work also includes “How I Met Your Mother,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Less Than Perfect,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Abducted,” “Precious”<\/strong> and “Beauty Shop.” <\/strong>Shepard was also seen in the Off-Broadway run of Love, Loss and What I Wore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Now in its second year on Broadway and celebrating its 600th performance Aug. 9, Cinderella currently features Paige Faure<\/strong> as Cinderella, Joe Carroll <\/strong>as Prince Topher, Nancy Opel <\/strong>as Madame, Victoria Clark <\/strong>as the Fairy Godmother, Ann Harada <\/strong>as stepsister Charlotte, Stephanie Gibson <\/strong>as stepsister Gabrielle, Peter Bartlett <\/strong>as Sebastian, Prince Topher’s mentor and Lord Chancellor, Todd Buonopane <\/strong>as the rebel Jean-Michel and Phumzile Sojola<\/strong> as Lord Pinkleton.<\/p>\n

Cinderella has music by Richard Rodgers<\/strong>, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II<\/strong>, a new book by Douglas Carter Beane<\/strong> and original book by Hammerstein II. The musical is directed by Mark Brokaw<\/strong>, with choreography by Josh Rhodes<\/strong>, music adaptation, supervision and arrangements by David Chase<\/strong> and orchestrations by Danny Troob<\/strong>. Constantine Kitsopoulos<\/strong> is currently music director and conductor.<\/p>\n
