Warner Bros.\u2019 \u201cBatman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice\u201d<\/strong> has moved from May 6, 2016 to March 25, 2016<\/strong>. The film was planned to go up against \u201cCaptain America 3\u2033 but instead will move up more than a month to avoid the confrontation.<\/p>\n

The highly anticipated action adventure from director Zack Snyder<\/strong> stars Henry Cavill<\/strong> in the role of Clark Kent\/Superman, and Ben Affleck<\/strong> as BruceWayne\/Batman.<\/p>\n

\u201cBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice\u201d also stars Gal Gadot<\/strong> as Diana Prince\/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne<\/strong> and Diane Lane<\/strong> returning from \u201cMan of Steel,\u201d Jesse Eisenberg<\/strong> as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons<\/strong> as Alfred, and Holly Hunter<\/strong> in a role newly created for the film.<\/p>\n

\"Ben<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice\u201dis written by Chris Terrio<\/strong>, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer<\/strong>. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder<\/strong> are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller<\/strong>, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns<\/strong> serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n

Principal photography will take place on location at Michigan Motion Picture Studios and on location in and around Detroit, Michigan; Illinois; Africa; and the South Pacific.<\/p>\n

\u201cBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice\u201d is based on Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster, Batman characters created by Bob Kane, and Wonder Woman created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.<\/p>\n

Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman spoke with EW<\/a> about why their most recent move is the smart thing to do.<\/p>\n

“The reality now is there really isn’t a bad week to open a movie,”<\/strong>\ufffd<\/em>Fellman said. “If you look at the summer box office this year, you can see that there were so many movies, one after the other. You can start with Spider-Man, two weeks later Godzilla, and then Maleficent, and then Edge of Tomorrow, and then Jump Street and Transformers. And the one thing they all had in common, not one of them did over $250 million. We’ll be the first one up (in 2016), \u00a0which is very important, and we’ll have six weeks before Captain America comes in.”<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Fellman also confirmed that the initial push of the film’s release date of July 2015 to May 2016, and landing on the same day as Marvel’s Captain America 3, was because they believed Marvel Studios wouldn’t have a film ready to release on that date.<\/p>\n

“In terms of going back and reviewing the situation, it looked to us–and maybe our reconnaissance wasn’t great–that they were not going to have a movie [ready] on that date. Just that they held onto it and they might not be able to deliver. But they took another position.”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
