Principal photography has begun on Screen Gems\u2019 thriller \u201cThe Perfect Guy,\u201d<\/strong> starring Sanaa Lathan<\/strong> (\u201cThe Best Man Holiday\u201d), Michael Ealy<\/strong> (\u201cThink Like A Man,\u201d \u201cThink Like A Man 2,\u201d \u201cAbout Last Night,\u201d \u201cSeven Pounds\u201d) and Morris Chestnut<\/strong> (\u201cThink Like A Man,\u201d \u201cIdentity Thief,\u201d \u201cThe Best Man Holiday\u201d).<\/p>\n

The film also stars Charles S. Dutton<\/strong> (\u201cLongmire,\u201d \u201cAgainst the Ropes,\u201d \u201cCry the Beloved Country,\u201d \u201cAlien 3\u201d), Rutina Wesley<\/strong> (\u201cTrue Blood\u201d) and Kathryn Morris<\/strong> (\u201cCold Case\u201d).<\/p>\n

Directed by David M. Rosenthal<\/strong> (\u201cA Single Shot,\u201d \u201cJanie Jones\u201d), the film is produced by Tommy Oliver<\/strong> (\u201c1982,\u201d \u201cKinyarwanda\u201d), Darryl Taja<\/strong> (\u201cNew IN Town\u201d), Nicole Rocklin<\/strong> (\u201cThe Magnificent Cooly-T,\u201d \u201cMiddle of Nowhere\u201d) and Wendy Rhoads<\/strong> (\u201cThe Haunting in Connecticut,\u201d \u201dBecause I Said So\u201d) and will shoot on locations throughout Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

\"Charles<\/a><\/p>\n

Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) appears to have the ideal life. She enjoys a challenging, fast-paced career as a lobbyist; Dave (Morris Chestnut), her longterm boyfriend loves her. And yet \u2026 at 36, she\u2019s ready to move to the next phase. Marriage and a family seem a logical and welcome step. Dave is not so sure. A bit commitment phobic, his misgivings lead to a painful break up. Enter Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy), a handsome, charming stranger whose path keeps crossing with Leah\u2019s. Caring and solicitous of Leah and her family and friends, (Charles S. Dutton, Rutina Wesley, Kathryn Morris) their relationship rapidly progresses. It seems Leah has met The Perfect Guy. But if it seems too good to be true \u2026 soon his protective nature morphs into something more sinister. It\u2019s clear Leah has to end this new relationship and when she does, her onetime lover becomes her ultimate enemy. It will take every bit of her cunning and resolve to escape and outwit him.<\/p>\n

\"Sanaa<\/a><\/p>\n

Sanaa Lathan, born and raised in New York City, has starred in many films, including the boxoffice hits \u201cThe Best Man\u201d and \u201cLove & Basketball.\u201d Other film credits include \u201cBrown Sugar,\u201d for which she received an NAACP Image Award nomination, \u201cAlien vs. Predator,\u201d \u201cThe Family That Preys,\u201d \u2018Out of Time\u201d and \u201cContagion.\u201d A graduate of both the University of California Berkeley and Yale University, where she received her degree in drama, her television work includes the HBO movie \u201cDisappearing Acts,\u201d based on Terry McMillan\u2019s novel, for which she earned the Essence Award for Best Actress, and the Starz series \u201cBoss\u201d. Her stage work includes the Broadway production \u201cA Raisin in the Son,\u201d for which she garnered a Tony nomination, and \u201cCat on a Hot Tin Roof\u201d at the Novello Theater in London.<\/p>\n

Michael Ealy\u2019s diverse film credits include \u201cBarbershop,\u201d \u201cBarbershop 2: Back in Business,\u201d \u201c2 Fast 2 Furious,\u201d \u201cTheir Eyes Were Watching God,\u201d \u201cSeven Pounds,\u201d \u201cFor Colored Girls,\u201d \u2018Underworld: Awakening\u201d and \u201cThink Like A Man.\u201d He starred in the provocative Showtime television series \u201cSleeper Cell\u201d and the second season, \u201cSleeper Cell: American Terror.\u201d He received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Mini-Series for his work in \u201cSleeper Cell: American Terror.\u201d Other television credits include \u201cThe Good Wife,\u201d \u201cCommon Law\u201d and \u201cAlmost Human,\u201d in which he played an Android.<\/p>\n

\"Morris<\/a><\/p>\n

Morris Chestnut first came to audience attention for his memorable portrayal of Ricky Baker in \u201cBoyz in the Hood.\u201d He most recently starred in the boxoffice hits \u201cThink Like a Man\u201d and \u201cThe Best Man Holiday,\u201d which reunited the cast of the original \u201cThe Best Man.\u201d Other film credits include \u201cKick-Ass 2,\u201d \u201cIdentity Thief,\u201d \u201cNot Easily Broken,\u201d with Taraji P Henson ,\u201cThe Game Plan,\u201d and \u201cLadder 49.\u201d He stars as Dr. Ike Prentiss on Showtime\u2019s \u201cNurse Jackie\u201d and plays Tony Rice on the TNT series \u201cLegends.\u201d He was a series regular on the first season of the F\/X miniseries \u201cAmerican Horror Story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"David<\/a><\/p>\n

David M. Rosenthal\u2019s latest feature was the atmospheric thriller \u201cA Single Shot,\u201d starring Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, Jeffrey Wright and Jason Isaacs, released by IFC Films in the fall of 2013. Prior to that, he wrote, directed and produced \u201cJanie Jones,\u201d a semi-autobiographical drama starring Abigail Breslin and Alessandro Nivola. An accomplished writer and photographer, Rosenthal has a Masters degree in poetry from Sarah Lawrence and during college, his work was published in such literary magazines as The Paris Review. He earned another Masters in film from the American Film Institute. After graduating, his first short, \u201cAbsence,\u201d was a strong presence on the festival circuit and was picked up for distribution internationally. Rosenthal next produced and directed the documentary \u201cDylan\u2019s Run,\u201d which followed the campaign trail of a Dylan Glenn who made history by becoming the first African American to run for a congressional seat in the Deep South since Reconstruction. Rosenthal\u2019s first feature, \u201cSee This Movie, premiered at the Aspen Comedy Film Festival and starred Seth Myers and John Cho. His next film was the romantic comedy \u201cFalling Up,\u201d starring Joseph Cross, Rachel Leigh Cook and Joe Pantoliano. Rosenthal is also a member of The Actors\u2019 Studio playwrights unit.<\/p>\n
