Back for more fun and action this week is ‘The Expendables 3,’<\/strong> hitting theaters on August 15.<\/p>\n

Returning for the sequel are\u00a0Jason Statham<\/b>,\u00a0Jet Li<\/b>,\u00a0Dolph Lundgren<\/b>,\u00a0Randy Couture<\/b>,\u00a0Terry Crews<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Arnold<\/b>Schwarzenegger<\/b>, with\u00a0Wesley Snipes<\/b>,\u00a0Antonio Banderas<\/b>,\u00a0Harrison Ford<\/b>,\u00a0Kellan Lutz<\/b>,\u00a0Glen Powell<\/b>, MMA starRonda Rousey<\/b>, and welterweight boxing champion\u00a0Victor Ortiz<\/b>\u00a0joining the cast.<\/p>\n

Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill\u2026 or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables \u2014 but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables\u2019 most personal battle yet.<\/p>\n

\"Terry<\/a><\/p>\n

From Single Moms Club to Draft Day to Blended as well as his TV show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Crews has had one busy 2014 year.\u00a0 In speaking exclusively with Blackfilm.com, Crews talked about his role, working with Snipes, and being ready for his own film.<\/p>\n

What can we expect Caeser to be doing in this third film?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Terry Crews:<\/strong> My big thing is that you want what you are used to, in a lot of ways, and with Caeser, these guys are family. What you will discover is that The Expendables was not just Barney’s creation. There’s a whole another factor involved. One of Barney’s old nemesis, played by Mel Gibson, comes back to get revenge on Barney. It’s cool because you have the old and new. You realize that The Expendables is really a franchise. It just keeps going and growing. Maybe we’re getting phased out. I think it’s a cool to how the expendables has been about the past.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/p>\n

With such a big cast in this film, were you worried if your role would be diminished?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> With everyone’s schedule being so crazy to begin with, you pray that there’s enough room for your character to be there and to do enough. I think the whole gist of the movie is that it is about bringing on more and being bigger and better. The fact that we have Kelsey Grammer and Harrison Ford, and Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes added, you have to know that there’s probably not enough room to tell everyone’s story but you get to see this. I also think there’s room for spinoffs for everyone. It’s something that can keep going for a long, long time. We’ve only begun to get into the stories of each character and the way it can go, so I think part of the novelty is getting a chance to see everyone together.<\/p>\n

Was there a time when everyone got together to get better acquainted?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> What was great because a lot of us weren’t on set at the same time being that everyone has their own big thing that they are doing, but I had the privilege and honor of hanging with Wesley more than anyone, and it was cool. We went out to dinner and we talked. I literally got to talk to him about what were his motivations on “New Jack City,” and what was it like doing “Mo’ Better Blues” and going back into the “Blade” franchise and what a hit that was. It was one of the best experiences ever. He was supposed to be in the first “Expendables.” The reason I was hired was because Wesley wasn’t able to do the movie and now that he’s in it, it feels that everything is right with the world. It makes things right. There are a lot of things that happens in the film that makes things correct. It makes you go, “Wow! That makes a whole lotta sense.” The fact that Mel Gibson plays a villain makes a lot of sense to a lot of people. These are some of the greatest talent that have ever been on a movie screen and I’m honored to be among them.<\/p>\n

Having been in so many films and TV projects, are you ready for that lead role?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> Yeah. I’m not stopping. The next move is to get bigger and better. To have this opportunity and to be amongst these guys and to get the international exposure that I’ve been getting, the next move is to make my own deals; to get my own movie going and to produce and act and with the stuff that happening with ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’ The big thing happening with studios now is that they want the stars to be interchangeable and they want someone than be replaced with another guy and is not a problem, but The Expendables is not like that. No one in the franchise is replaceable. There is not one character where you can slide in another guy. That’s the difference with movie stars and the stars of today. You have to be irreplaceable. My goal has always been to be that guy, be an irreplaceable part to whatever I’m into. I think the next move is to do more movies. If there was a ‘Hail Caesar’ spinoff, I would be down for that, with Sly and all the other guys. Sly understands that. He’s made some great characters that people want to know about. I’m open to all of it. My job is to get bigger and better.<\/p>\n

\"The-Expendables-3-cast\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

After working with so many of these guys who have had long careers, what did you take away from your conversations with them?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> For me, these guys are from a different day. They will tell you that there weren’t many studios or TV channels and the internet wasn’t a big deal. You had to go to the movies if you wanted to see something. Now, there’s just so much out there and there are so many ways to see things and so many ways to do things. Television wasn’t as good as it is now. They will tell you that if you can do it, then do it. That’s what I learned from them. They took their risks in big, gigantic blockbusters, but now you take the risks by doing more and different things. I look at Bryan Cranston in ‘Breaking Bad’ and that’s a risky move to do a show on AMC. It could be perceived to being small, but it turned out to one of the greatest pieces of entertainment, not just television. It’s a different day now. That’s one thing that Sly recognizes as well as Wesley. Everyone I talked to on the set realizes that the rules have changed and you just have to be good and excellent. I think if you bring everything you’ve got, you will end up in a good place. That’s what I learned to do from those guys.<\/p>\n

\"Terry<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s been talk of a female spinoff from The Expendables. If so, who would you like to see?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> I’m a big fan of Sigourney Weaver. She would be the greatest lead in a movie like that. Ronda (Rousey) came in and killed it. Ronda is the perfect, true warrior woman. When you look at her last fight and acting abilities, it’s just amazing. I love her. She’s a great person too. Milla Jovovich and there’s Charlize Theron and I could see Jada Pinkett Smith in this. I think Angela Bassett can be a part of this. It’s believable when Angela Bassett kicks your ass!<\/p>\n

As you go back to your day job on TV, what’s been exciting for you this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n

TC:<\/strong> I can put a finger on one thing. There’s been too much. I’m the new host of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,’ and there’s ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ in which we got the Golden Globe for that show. This film, ‘Blended’ with Adam Sandler, and there’s so much that happened. At the end of the year, I’ll be able to take it in and take a breathe, but right now, I’m too busy working.<\/p>\n
