TV One has released some clips\u00a0to Roger Bobb’s<\/strong> upcoming film, Girlfriends\u2019 Getaway<\/strong>, starring Garcelle Beauvais, Terri Vaughn, Essence Atkins<\/strong>, and Malinda Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Girlfriends\u2019 Getaway will air on\u00a0Saturday, August 30 at 8PM\/ET<\/strong>, with an encore at 11PM\/ET and at 11AM\/ET on Sunday, August 31st<\/p>\n

Set in Trinidad and Tobago, the comedy which is described as Waiting To Exhale meets The Hangover, Girlfriends\u2019 Getaway<\/strong> is about four friends who take a trip to the Caribbean to celebrate two of their friends\u2019 birthdays. One thing leads to another and they get into a bit of trouble.<\/p>\n

\"Girlfriends<\/a>Beauvais stars as Vicky Holmes, a successful business owner, who is outwardly hitting a stride in love and life. However, just days before a romantic birthday trip, she is blindsided by her boyfriend\u2019s decision to relocate and end their relationship. Vicky ultimately decides to bring her best girlfriends – who are all facing turning points in their lives as well \u2013 with her, for a grown-up girls getaway in Trinidad. After their first wild night, an innocent mistake sets off a chain of events that will forever change each of their lives. When the very pregnant Sophie (played by Vaughn) is kidnapped and held for $10,000 ransom, the remaining girls have 24-hours to come together in order to get Sophie back safely or end up in jail.<\/p>\n

Directed by Bobb (“Raising Izzie”), who also served as the film\u2019s Executive Producer with Angi Bones<\/strong> serving as Producer, the film was written by Cas Sigers-Beedles<\/strong>, and is a co-production between Bobbcat Films and Siger\u2019s and Vaughn\u2019s Nina Holiday Entertainment.<\/p>\n
