Open Road Films has announced that Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx<\/strong> and Michelle Monaghan<\/strong> will star in Sleepless Night<\/strong>, an action thriller that will be directed by Baran Bo Odar.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sleepless Night is the story of Vincent Downs (Jamie Foxx), a seemingly corrupt Las Vegas cop. When gangsters kidnap his son as ransom for a shipment of cocaine he stole, Downs races to save his son\u2019s life without getting caught by Internal Affairs and before the mobsters discover that he\u2019s actually lost the goods. Monaghan plays officer Jennifer Bryant, an Internal Affairs agent investigating Downs who ultimately has to decide which side of the law he\u2019s on.<\/p>\n

\"Sleepless<\/a>The screenplay was written by Andrea Berloff (World Trade Center, the upcoming Straight Outta Compton). Sleepless Night is a reinvention of the French film Nuit Blanche<\/strong>, directed by Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Jardin<\/strong>, and written by Jardin, Olivier Fox <\/strong>and Nicolas Saada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Vertigo Entertainment will produce Sleepless Night for Open Road Films, which will finance production and take worldwide distribution rights under their recently-announced partnership with FilmNation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a sharp script and a first rate team of talent in front of and behind the camera, we are proud to produce \u2018Sleepless Night\u2019 and to make this project the inaugural film under our international distribution agreement with FilmNation,\u201d<\/strong> stated Tom Ortenberg.<\/p>\n

Roy Lee<\/strong> and Vertigo Entertainment President of Production, Adam Stone<\/strong>, will produce for Vertigo Entertainment, along with company partner, John Powers Middleton, and company VP, Alex Foster, who will both executive produce. Open Road Films\u2019 Tom Ortenberg and Peter Lawson are executive producers. Lauranne Bourrachot and Marco Cherqui from Chic Films who produced the original French film will serve as Executive Producers.<\/p>\n

Foxx was recently seen in Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2<\/strong> and Annie<\/strong>, while Monaghan, who received a\u00a0Golden Globe nomination for HBO’s True Detective<\/strong>, was last seen in Fort Bliss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
