\nDebra Martin Chase<\/strong> (Sparkle, Just Wright) is on board to\u00a0executive produce a biopic on Little League Pitcher Mo\u2019ne Davis<\/strong> for the Disney Channel titled ‘Throw Like Mo.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Davis became the first girl to pitch a shutout in the history of the Little League World Series. The Philadelphia eighth grader, who plays for the Philadelphia\u2019s Taney Dragons made the cover of Sports Illustrated because of this feat.<\/p>\n

LUV and A Slave In The White House\u2019s Sheldon Candis<\/strong> and Justin Wilson<\/strong> will co-write the script. espnW will also consult on the movie as well as Davis.<\/p>\n

\"Mo\u2019ne\u201cMo\u2019ne is not only a top-notch athlete in three different sports \u2014 baseball, basketball and soccer, but she is an exemplary student and someone who will remind our audiences that they can do anything with hard work, dedication and belief in themselves,<\/strong> said Naketha Mattocks, Vice President, Original Movies, Disney Channels. \u201cWe know her story will inspire audiences regardless of their age, culture or gender and I am thrilled to have Debra, Sheldon and Justin leading the charge to bring this movie to life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2014, director Spike Lee<\/strong> and his ad company Spike DDB teamed up with Chevrolet to produce a documentary on Davis<\/strong> called ‘I Throw Like a Girl.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Martin recently executive produced Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B for Lifetime.<\/p>\n
