Roadside Attractions\u00a0has released this first trailer from director Craig Zobel’s Z for Zachariah<\/strong>, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Margot Robbie<\/strong> and Chris Pine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Nissar Modi<\/strong> wrote the screenplay for the psychological thriller, adapting Robert C. O\u2019Brien<\/strong>\u2018s 1974 novel. The movie is set in a post apocalyptic world, where a young woman named ANN (Margot Robbie) lives on a farm believing she is the last of the human race. Her fate is turned on its head when she meets LOOMIS (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a dying scientist on a hopeless quest to find his family. A budding young woman with feelings of lust, Ann starts to fall in love with Loomis while she nurses him back to health. But their relationship becomes tenuous when an unexpected survivor named CALEB (Chris Pine) shows up. Caleb is younger, stronger and more virile than Loomis. So when Loomis and Caleb begin to compete for Ann’s affections their primal urges seep to the surface. We soon see their true nature as they relentlessly struggle to claim the last woman on earth.<\/p>\n

Material Pictures\u2019\u00a0Tobey Maguire<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Matthew Plouffe<\/strong>\u00a0produced the film alongside Zik Zak Filmworks\u2019\u00a0Sk\u00fali Malmquist, Thor Sigurjonsson<\/strong>\u00a0and Palomar Pictures\u2019\u00a0Joni Sighvatsson<\/strong>.\u00a0Gary Ross<\/strong>\u00a0and Lucky Hat Entertainment\u2019s\u00a0Stephen Bannatyne<\/strong>\u00a0serve as executive produce, along with Silver Reel\u2019s\u00a0Claudia Bluemhuber<\/strong>\u00a0and Lotus Entertainment\u2019s\u00a0Jim Seibel<\/strong>and\u00a0Bill Johnson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The film hits theaters on\u00a0August 20.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
