Sony TriStar has released a new trailer and poster for the upcoming comedy drama Ricki and the Flash<\/strong>, starring Academy Award Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Mamie Gummer, Audra McDonald, Sebastian Stan, Rick Springfield, Ben Platt, Hayse Jack, Luke Webb<\/strong>, and Charlotte Rae<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Directed by the Academy Award winning Jonathan Demme and scripted by fellow Oscar winner Diablo Cody, and featuring live musical performances, Streep stars as Ricki Rendazzo, a guitar heroine who made a world of mistakes as she followed her dreams of rock-and-roll stardom.<\/p>\n

Returning home, Ricki gets a shot at redemption and a chance to make things right as she faces the music with her family. Streep stars opposite her real-life daughter, Mamie Gummer, as well as Rick Springfield, who portrays a Flash member in love with Ricki, Kevin Kline, who stars as Ricki\u2019s ex-husband, and Audra McDonald, who plays Kline\u2019s new wife.<\/p>\n

Ricki and the Flash is produced by Cody, Marc Platt, Mason Novick and Gary Goetzman and executive produced by Ron Bozman, Adam Siegel, Lorene Scafaria and Ben Waisbren.<\/p>\n

Ricki and the Flash hits theaters on August 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n
