Universal Pictures has released a 60 seconds TV spot for RIDE ALONG 2<\/strong> during last night’s season 2 premiere of Fox’s Empire. The film is the sequel to the blockbuster action-comedy that gave us the year\u2019s most popular comedy duo, Kevin Hart<\/strong> and Ice Cube<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Set to hit theaters on January 15, 2016 and also coming back for the next chapter of the series are director Tim Story<\/strong>, as well as Cube\u2019s fellow producers\u2014Will Packer, Matt Alvarez and Larry Brezner<\/strong>, who will produce alongside Cube.<\/p>\n

Besides Hart and Cube coming back as Ben Barber and Detective James Payton the film respectively, Tika Sumpter <\/strong>is reprising her role as Angela Payton, James’s sister and Ben’s girlfriend, and Bruce McGill <\/strong>as Lt. Brooks, Payton’s boss in the Atlanta Police department. Newcomers include Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn<\/strong>, and Sherri Shepherd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When the film opened in 2014 with $41 million dollars, it held the number one spot at the US box office for three weeks, grossing $21 million and $12 million in its second and third weeks. Its total domestic gross was $134,202,565, with the international gross $19,059,619, bringing the worldwide total to $153,262,184, according to Wikipedia<\/a>.<\/p>\n
