Nominated for\u00a0four NAACP Image Awards, the film stars Nick<\/strong> Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Teyonah Parris, Jennifer Hudson, Steve Harris, Harry Lennix, D.B. Sweeney, La La Anthony, Angela Bassett <\/strong>as \u201cMiss Helen,\u201d with John Cusack<\/strong> and Samuel L. Jackson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Spike Lee\u2019s Chi-Raq is\u00a0a searing satire of gun violence in America inspired by the ancient Greek play \u201cLysistrata.\u201d Touted as \u201cthe freshest film of 2015\u201d by The Village Voice, Chi-Raq transports Aristophanes\u2019 classic battle of the sexes to Chicago\u2019s South Side, where the death of a child by a gang member\u2019s stray bullet inspires a group of women to organize against the ongoing violence. From acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee, Chi-Raq is the first original feature production from Amazon Studios, which brought the world the Emmy\u00ae- and Golden Globe\u00ae-winning series \u201cTransparent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chi-Raq home entertainment release includes \u201cThe Making of Chi-Raq\u201d featurette, deleted scenes, extended scenes and a music video for \u201cWe Gotta Do Better\u201d from Kevon Carter. The Chi-Raq Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively. Digital suggested retail prices will be $14.99 (HD) and $12.99 (SD).<\/p>\n
