Footage Films has released a poster, trailer and pics to the family comedy A Weekend with the Family<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Directed by Christopher B. Stokes<\/strong>, the cast includes Karrueche Tran, Marques Houston, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Clifton Powell, Dorien Wilson, Chantel Jeffries, Suzanne Whang, J Boog, Shondrella Avery <\/strong>and Alfred \u201cBlack\u201d Nolan Thomas II<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This will be the first film by director Chris Stokes to be recognized as part of the AMC Independent\u2122 Film Program, which highlights their commitment to advancing independent film, allowing patrons the opportunity to see more distinct and unconventional films at their theatres around the country.<\/p>\n

A young attorney looks to gain a position at a prestigious law firm while secretly dating his boss\u2019 daughter, who he\u2019s hoping to marry; but when his loving girlfriend decides to arrange a surprise family weekend get-together, his plans blow up in his face, especially with the arrival of his ghetto-fied family, the Stankershets.<\/p>\n

Travis (Marques Houston) and Courtney (Karrueche Tran) portray love interests who struggle to hold on to their relationship all while their two families wage war in an explosion of hilarity. It\u2019s the far east against the deep south; strict, traditional, Korean customs versus a backwards, country way of life. In the end, Travis must find a way to make the two families peacefully co-exist long enough for him to propose to the woman he loves.<\/p>\n

Written by Chaz Echols, Christopher B. Stokes<\/strong>, and Marques Houston<\/strong>, A Weekend with the Family hits theaters on April 1st.<\/p>\n
