Cherry&#8217;s 9 Rides<\/strong>, which will have its World Premiere at the\u00a0SXSW Festival on March 11.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring <strong>Dorian Missick, Omar Dorsey, Robinne Lee, Xosha Roquemore, Amin Joseph, Skye P. Marshall, Thomas Q. Jones, Tracie Thoms, Aasha Davis<\/strong>, and <strong>Sujata Day<\/strong>, the follows an Uber driver (Missick) on New Year&#8217;s Eve picking up nine different groups of passengers, each helping him cope with life-changing news.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first feature film shot exclusively with the new iPhone 6s.<strong> \u201cMost of the film takes place in a car, so we decided early on that shooting it on iPhones would give us the most freedom,&#8221;<\/strong> stated cinematographer <strong>Richard Vialet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Matthew-A.-Cherrys-9-Lives-Cast.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-78089\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-78089\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 167'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Matthew-A.-Cherrys-9-Lives-Cast-300x167.jpg\" alt=\"Matthew A. Cherry's 9 Lives Cast\" width=\"300\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a>Cherry stated in a press release early this year that<strong> \u201cThe film was shot without a conventional script so it was important to work with actors who were comfortable with being asked to improv, and they all delivered.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nine Rides&#8221; is\u00a0produced by <strong>Jerome Caldwell<\/strong> of\u00a0JCaldwell Productions, <strong>Matthew Keene Smith\u00a0<\/strong>of Twice Told Films, and <strong>Datari Turner\u00a0<\/strong>from Datari Turner Productions.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry&#8217;s previous film was &#8220;<strong>The Last Fall<\/strong>&#8221; with <strong>Lance Gross<\/strong> and <strong>Nicole Beharie<\/strong>.
