It’s interesting, I had some girls talk to me about the character and they saw the show and they were mentioning my character Pam. I didn’t really think of it this way, but she said, “You’re one of the really good people on the show.” I thought about that for a hot second and even though this fight having an affair, I was like, “Oh Pam’s having affairs” or she’s not completely innocent, but I think ultimately her character just by having an affair, she really does want to do the right thing. Her heart’s in the right place. She certainly has some obstacles to face with her relationship with Jeri, but ultimately I think she really is an emphatic character.

How much of a comic book fan were you before you took on the series?

Susie Abromeit: I wasn’t, I did a little bit of comic book reading as a kid, but mostly I was more the fan girl. I loved different heroes, the movies, Batman. I grew up watching and loving all the Batman’s and all the super hero movies like Superman. I’m really excited to see Suicide Squad and the new Batman that’s coming out and anything that, yeah, it’s kind of that fan girl feeling. I went to go see every single Harry Potter movie.

I don’t know if that relates to a super hero world, but I guess it kind of ties into that from a younger demographic. There’s always that terrible back story about and the back story about these characters that are so incredibly developed. You look at a character like Jessica Jones and her tragedy is just unparallel to a lot of stories you read. I think it’s a very unique one as well. I think that sort of a thing is trying to over come our own demons.

The good thing about Jessica Jones is there’s so many layers of different characters whether it’s Jessica, Jeri, and the other characters including yourself, how would you describe Pam’s relationship with Jeri and as the episodes go on?

Susie Abromeit: I would definitely say that in many ways Jeri, especially at work, is more more of the dominant figure and Pam is more of a caretaker who is very feminine and always making sure that Jeri’s okay. Just being super sympathetic and emphatic to Jeri’s needs. However, when she starts to realize that Jeri can’t really pull the trigger on making a real commitment because she was previously married to someone else, I think that’s where things really start to unfold and you start to see Jeri’s true colors and what she’s willing to do at any cost. Unfortunately, it’s the cost of other people’s lives. Which unfortunately Pam I think thinks that, oh well just be the powerful Jeri that I know you are, but instead she does some pretty drastic measures to get those papers signed. It doesn’t turn out well because Jeri kind of goes to the dark side.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

How’s it working with Carrie-Anne Moss?

Susie Abromeit: Working with Carrie was absolutely incredible. When I was 9 there was this Middlesex camp called MSSA which Chris Evans actually went to and it was an acting camp. I got this floor of a disaster in summer and I always wanted to be an actress. I think I was probably discouraged because you couldn’t really make a living at it as a young kid.
