New Line Cinema has released a new\u00a0featurette to The Conjuring 2<\/strong>, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.<\/p>\n

Unlike the recent spinoff film, Annabelle (which explored the back story of the first film\u2019s terrifying doll), The Conjuring 2 will continue the based-on-truth adventures of the Warrens, whose cases have also inspired the likes of The Haunting in Connecticut and most notably, The Amityville Horror. In the sequel, Lorraine and Ed Warren travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.<\/p>\n

The Conjuring 2 also stars Frances O\u2019Connor<\/strong> as the single mom\u00a0with Madison Wolfe and newcomers Lauren Esposito, Patrick McAuley<\/strong> and Benjamin Haigh<\/strong> as her children; Maria Doyle Kennedy; Simon Delaney; Franka Potente<\/strong>; and Simon McBurney<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In addition to directing the film, James Wan<\/strong> wrote the screenplay with Carey Hayes & Chad Hayes<\/strong>, and David Leslie<\/strong> Johnson.<\/strong> Peter Safran<\/strong>, Wan and Rob Cowan<\/strong>, who previously collaborated on The Conjuring, are producing.<\/p>\n

The film follows the phenomenal worldwide reception of Wan\u2019s The Conjuring, which marked the largest opening ever for an original horror movie in 2013. The film went on to make more than $319 million worldwide and still remains the second-highest grossing original horror movie of all time, second only to The Exorcist.<\/p>\n
