During\u00a0yesterday\u2019s Fox Upfront, the network showcased a look at the new series Pitch<\/strong>, starring Kylie Bunbury<\/strong> as Ginny Baker, Mark-Paul Gosselaar<\/strong> as Mike Lawson, Ali Larter<\/strong> as Amelia Slater, Mark Consuelos<\/strong> as Oscar Arguella, Dan Lauria<\/strong> as Al Luongo, Mo McRae<\/strong> as Blip Sanders, Meagan Holder<\/strong> as Evelyn Sanders, \u00a0and Tim Jo<\/strong> as Eliot<\/p>\n

From executive producers Dan Fogelman<\/strong> (\u201cCars,\u201d \u201cCrazy, Stupid, Love.\u201d) and Rick Singer<\/strong> (\u201cYounger,\u201d \u201cAmerican Dad\u201d), PITCH is the dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball.<\/p>\n

A beautiful, tough and gifted athlete, GINNY BAKER (Kylie Bunbury<\/strong>, \u201cUnder The Dome\u201d) is vaulted into instant fame when she\u2019s called up by the San Diego Padres to make her Major League debut. Like any rookie, Ginny must prove herself to her teammates. Foremost among them is MIKE LAWSON (Mark-Paul Gosselaar<\/strong>, \u201cFranklin & Bash,\u201d \u201cNYPD Blue\u201d), the team\u2019s ruggedly handsome star catcher. There\u2019s instant chemistry between them, although neither dares admit it. After all, Mike is captain of the team and a few of his players don\u2019t even want Ginny on the field.<\/p>\n

One of the players watching Ginny\u2019s back is center fielder BLIP SANDERS (Mo McRae<\/strong>, \u201cSons of Anarchy\u201d), an old friend from the minor leagues. Guiding her is her agent\/confidante AMELIA SLATER (Ali Larter<\/strong>, \u201cLegends,\u201d \u201cHeroes\u201d). Amelia saw Ginny\u2019s star potential early on and left her previous job as a Hollywood publicist to concentrate on the young phenom. Although groomed for this moment by her demanding father, BILL BAKER (guest star Michael Beach<\/strong>, \u201cSons of Anarchy\u201d), the end of Ginny\u2019s improbable journey is the beginning of an almost impossible one: representing her gender as she embarks on a successful baseball career under the glare of the white-hot media spotlight.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a goal hard enough for anyone to achieve \u2013 except this player is also a woman, who happens to be the most important historical figure in sports since Jackie Robinson. This season, Ginny Baker will be the other woman trying to break into one of the oldest, most exclusive men\u2019s clubs in the country.<\/p>\n
