\"The<\/a>IFC Films has released the official trailer and poster to its upcoming crime drama The Land<\/strong>, which premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and will hit theaters and VOD on July 29th.<\/p>\n

Written and Directed by Steven Caple Jr.<\/strong> and executive produced by Nas<\/strong>, the film stars Erykah Badu, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Moises Arias, Rafi Gavron, Ezri Walker, Kim Coates, Linda Emond, Natalie Martinez<\/strong>, and Colson Baker<\/strong> (aka Machine Gun Kelly).<\/p>\n

A portrait of four kids trapped in an inner-city Cleveland Ohio spiral of poverty and crime, \u201cThe Land\u201d tracks Cisco (Landeborg) and three friends who spend their free time skateboarding and stealing cars for cash. To finance their entry into a major skateboarding competition, which could help them turn pro, they decide to hold on ecstasy they find in a drug dealers\u2019 truck. That plunges them into the web of the local drug queen-pin, and their motley brotherhood is tested \u2013 threatening to make this summer their last.<\/p>\n

The film was financed by Priority Pictures and Macro. It is produced by Lizzie Friedman<\/strong> (\u201cThe Stanford Prison Experiment\u201d), Tyler Davidson<\/strong> (\u201cTake Shelter\u201d), Karen Lauder<\/strong> (\u201cMax Payne\u201d), Greg Little<\/strong> (\u201cStanford Prison Experiment\u201d), Stephen Love<\/strong> (\u201cScary Movie\u201d) and Blake Pickens<\/strong>. It is executive produced by Charles D.
