\"LOVING_onesheet\"<\/a>Focus Features has released a clip\u00a0for the upcoming film “Loving,”<\/strong> written & directed by Jeff Nichols,<\/strong> and starring Ruth Negga<\/strong> and Joel Edgerton<\/strong> as Mildred and Richard Loving<\/strong>, the couple behind the seminal 1967 civil rights case Loving vs. Virginia.<\/p>\n

The film, world-premiering today In Competition at the 2016 Cannes International Film Festival, co-stars Michael Shannon, Nick Kroll, Marton Csokas, Jon Bass<\/strong>, and Bill Camp<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ged Doherty & Colin Firth (\u201cEye In The Sky\u201d), Sarah Green, Buirski and Big Beach\u2019s Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf produced the film, which was is inspired by the documentary The Loving Story.<\/p>\n

\"Loving<\/a><\/p>\n

Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple, were married in June 1958. As a result, authorities broke into their home, arrested them, and they were sentenced to a year in the state penitentiary. This sentence was suspended on the condition that they be exiled from the state of Virginia. Unbowed, the couple spent the next nine years fighting to get home, together.<\/p>\n

Loving will hit theaters this November<\/p>\n
