Deadline<\/a> is reporting that \u201cCommunity\u201d alum Donald Glover<\/strong> has been added to the cast of \u201cSpider-Man: Homecoming.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

His role has yet to be given or described.<\/p>\n

With Jon Watts<\/strong> directing Sony\u2019s reboot of the \u201cSpider-Man\u201d franchise, Glover joins Tom Holland<\/strong>, who plays the titular superhero, Marisa Tomei<\/strong>, who will portray Aunt May, Michael Keaton<\/strong> as The Vulture, by Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi<\/strong> and Tony Revolori<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Robert Downey Jr.<\/strong> is set to reprise his role as Tony Stark (Iron Man). Both Holland and Tomei appeared with Downey Jr. in “Captain America: Civil War<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Kevin Feige is producing with Amy Pascal. Production is expected to star this summer with the film hitting theaters on July 7, 2017.<\/p>\n

Interesting enough, Glover\u00a0voiced the character\u00a0of Miles Morales<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the black Spider-Man during the 2014 season of\u00a0Disney XD\u2018s animated series\u00a0\u201cUltimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>which featured both\u00a0Peter Parker\u00a0and Miles Morales, who meet in a parallel world, where they both exist.<\/p>\n

At one point, fans created a \u201cDonald Glover for Spider-Man<\/a>\u201d\u00a0Facebook fanpage<\/a>\u00a0before Holland got the role.<\/p>\n

Glover most recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film \u201cThe Martian\u201d<\/strong> opposite Matt Damon, Chiwetel Ejoifor<\/strong>\u00a0and Jessica Chastain<\/strong>. He can be seen next in his FX comedy \u201cAtlanta,\u201d<\/strong> which premieres later this summer. His other past credits include \u201cLazarus\u201d and \u201cMagic Mike XXL.\u201d<\/strong> He’s also a hip hop artist who records under the name Childish Gambino<\/strong> and contributed a song to the soundtrack of Ryan Coogler’s<\/strong> Rocky spinoff film, “Creed.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
