Variety<\/a>\u00a0is reporting that Mike Colter<\/strong> and Larenz Tate<\/strong> have joined the cast of Universal Pictures\u2019 \u201cGirl Trip,\u201d<\/strong> which will be directed by Malcolm D. Lee<\/strong>, and produced by Will Packer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The duo join Regina Hall<\/strong>,\u00a0Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n

Universal Pictures will release the film on\u00a0released on Friday, August 11, 2017.<\/p>\n

When four lifelong friends travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there\u2019s enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.<\/p>\n

\"Malcolm<\/a><\/p>\n

Will Packer,\u00a0<\/strong>via his Will Packer Productions banner, will be producing the comedy.\u00a0Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver<\/strong>, the same screenwriters of Lee\u2019s Barbershop: The Next Cut, \u00a0will be working on the film as well. James Lopez<\/strong>, head of motion pictures for Will Packer Productions, will executive produce the new, untitled Girl Trip project.<\/p>\n

Colter will next seen as Luke Cage in his own series on Nexflix\u2019s next comic book TV series\u00a0Marvel\u2019s Luke Cage.\u00a0<\/strong>He’s also\u00a0best known for his other TV roles as Lemond Bishop in\u00a0The Good Wife,<\/strong>\u00a0and Malcolm Ward in “Ringer<\/strong>.” His last appearance in a film was Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty<\/strong>\u00a0and was featured in Clint Eastwood’s Oscar winning film Million Dollar Baby.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last seen on the TV series\u00a0Game of Silence <\/strong>and on\u00a0House of Lies<\/strong>, Tate’s film credits include, Menace II Society,<\/strong>\u00a0Dead Presidents, Love Jones, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, A Man Apart, Waist Deep, Biker Boyz<\/strong> and Ray<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
