Netflix and Marvel Entertainment has released new photos\u00a0for Marvel\u2019s Luke Cage <\/strong>that will premiere on September 30.<\/p>\n

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city\u2013forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.<\/p>\n

Mike Colter,<\/strong> who was first introduced in “Jessica Jones<\/strong>,“<\/strong> plays Cage and leads a cast that also includes Simone Missick<\/strong> as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley<\/strong> as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali<\/strong> as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi<\/strong> as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard<\/strong>, and the return of Rosario Dawson<\/strong> as Claire Temple.<\/p>\n

\"Luke<\/a><\/p>\n

Cheo Hodari Coker<\/strong> (Notorious, \u201cNCIS: Los Angeles\u201d) will serve as executive producer and showrunner of the anticipated series, Marvel\u2019s Luke Cage. Coker is writing the first two episodes of the series that will premiere everywhere that Netflix is available.<\/p>\n

Created by Archie Goodwin and John Romita, Sr., Luke Cage is one of the most popular street level heroes in the Marvel Universe who possesses superhuman strength and impenetrable skin. He\u2019s also a friend and frequent business partner with Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, who will also be getting his own series on Netflix starring Finn Jones as the title hero.<\/p>\n

“Luke Cage”<\/strong> is the third series in Marvel\u2019s four-series package at Netflix after \u201cJessica Jones\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cMarvel\u2019s Daredevil.\u201d<\/strong> The last series will be \u201cIron Fist,\u201d<\/strong> with all four leading into a \u201cDefenders\u201d<\/strong> mini-series.<\/p>\n
