Indiewire<\/a> has posted the trailer and poster to ‘Hunter Gatherer,’<\/strong> starring Andre Royo<\/strong> (“The Wire,” “Empire”) in Josh Locy<\/strong>\u2019s feature directorial debut.<\/p>\n

Ashley Douglas thinks everything should fall into place when he\u2019s released after three years in prison. When that doesn\u2019t happen, he restarts his life with next to nothing: no friends, no lovers, no connections. All he has is a bedroom in his mom\u2019s house, a box of treasures buried in his backyard, and a deeply ingrained need to be with Linda \u2014 his one, true love — who has moved on without him.
\nAshley sees an opportunity in the form of Jeremy, an eccentric loner. They start a two-man business of dumping unwanted refrigerators for cash, which Ashley hopes will get Linda back and Jeremy hopes will help his ailing grandfather. As their partnership takes hold, a friendship flourishes — though their fates are very much still up in the air.<\/p>\n

The film also features\u00a0Kellee Stewart<\/span><\/strong>, <\/span>Ashley Wilkerson, and\u00a0newcomer George Sample III as Jeremy.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Royo won Special Jury Award for his performance at this year\u2019s SXSW Film Festival.<\/p>\n

Executive produced by David Gordon Green,\u00a0the film\u00a0will get a USA theatrical release courtesy\u00a0Rough House Pictures, starting in New York and Los Angeles on November 16, 2016<\/strong>, followed by a gradual national roll-out. After its theatrical run, The Orchard then will release the film on digital platforms in January.<\/p>\n
