Disney\u00a0has released a triptych artwork its upcoming live-action re-telling of \u201cBeauty and the Beast.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The film is based on the animated classic which refashions the classic characters and musical numbers from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle\u2019s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast\u2019s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.<\/p>\n

The film stars: Emma Watson<\/strong> as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans<\/strong> as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar winner Kevin Kline<\/strong> as Maurice, Belle\u2019s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad<\/strong> as Lefou, Gaston\u2019s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe nominee Ewan McGregor<\/strong> as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci<\/strong> as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen<\/strong> as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson<\/strong> as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.<\/p>\n

Directed by Oscar winner Bill Condon<\/strong> based on the 1991 animated film, \u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d is produced by Mandeville Films\u2019 David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman<\/strong>, with eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken<\/strong>, who won two Academy Awards\u00ae (Best Original Score and Best Song) for the 1991 animated film, providing the score, which will include new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman, as well as several new songs written by Menken and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeauty and the Beast\u201d will be released in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n
