Paramount Pictures has released two new posters\u00a0to Ghost in the Shell<\/strong> starring Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> as Major Motoko Kusanagi.<\/p>\n

Based on the famous Kodansha Comics manga series of the same name (written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow), the film is directed by Rupert Sanders<\/strong> and produced by Avi Arad, Ari Arad<\/strong>, and Steven Paul<\/strong>. Michael Costigan, Tetsu Fujimura, Mitsuhisa Ishikawa<\/strong>, whose animation studio Production I.G produced the Japanese Ghost in the Shell film and television series, and Jeffrey Silver<\/strong>\u00a0will executive produce.<\/p>\n

Ghost in the Shell follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic\u2019s advancements in cyber technology.<\/p>\n

The cast of Ghost in the Shell also includes Beat Takeshi Kitano<\/strong> as Daisuke Aramaki, Juliette Binoche<\/strong> as Dr. Ouelet, Michael Pitt<\/strong> as Kuze, Pilou Asb\u00e6k<\/strong> as Batou, and Kaori Momoi. The members of Section 9 are played by Chin Han, Danusia Samal, Lasarus Ratuere, Yutaka Izumihara<\/strong> and Tuwanda Manyimo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The film\u2019s crew includes Cinematographer Jess Hall, Editor Neil Smith, Production Designer Jan Roelfs, and Costume Designers Kurt Swanson and Bart Mueller.<\/p>\n

Ghost In The Shell hits theaters March 31, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n
