The F Word\u00a0explores the fibroid epidemic, its debilitating impact on the lives of women and their partners, and where we stand in discovering their cause, treatment and a cure.<\/p>\n<p>Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths with no known cause. A majority of women will develop fibroids at some point in their lives, and for some these growths cause years of suffering marked by debilitating menstrual cycles, miscarriages, pain, life-threatening anemia, ruined sex lives and other health problems.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/The-F-Word-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-96102\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 150'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/The-F-Word-1-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We ask the question women would ask with no knowledge of Fibroids. The women interviewed share their intimate Fibroid Stories. Stories of; their initial diagnosis of Fibroids, unique dealing with doctors, the common yet often debilitating symptoms associated with Fibroids and treatment choice. Doctors share both their clinical knowledge and candid views on practices in relation to fibroid treatment. The Documentary takes us into the Operating Room to view a myomectomy being performed.
