\"\"<\/a>From Oni\u00a0Press, the publisher behind\u00a0Scott Pilgrim, Whiteout\u00a0and\u00a0Invader ZIM\u00a0among others, comes an exciting new comic book based on BH Tilt and WWE Studio\u2019s much anticipated sci-fi thriller SLEIGHT<\/strong>, in theaters\u00a0on April 28, 2017. \u00a0 Written by Ryan Parrott<\/strong>\u00a0(Star Trek: Starfleet\u00a0Academy, Batman: Gates of Gotham) and illustrated by Eisner and Harvey Award winner Rob Guillory<\/strong> (Chew, The Walking Dead), the comic will\u00a0be available via digital download\u00a0for free for a limited time\u00a0on March 30, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The film is a fantastic achievement and an evolution of a genre I love, so I was honored when I was asked to contribute.\u00a0Considering its many influences, it just made sense to bring this story into the medium of comics,\u201d<\/strong> said Parrott.\u00a0 \u201cWith Rob’s incredible artwork, the goal was to provide a glimpse of what’s to come in the film while expanding the characters and the scope of the world. It was an amazing collaboration that I hope fans of the film will enjoy.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The origin story is set in the years leading up to the events of the film which follows Bo, a young street\u00a0magician left to care for his little sister Tina after their parents\u2019 passing who turns to questionable activities to keep a\u00a0roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic\u00a0and brilliant mind to save her.<\/p>\n

Guillory states, “SLEIGHT is a film dripping with visual style and heart-gripping characterization, so I felt that our job was to honor what JD Dillard created with this comic prequel. In a lot of ways, writer Ryan Parrot and I bring our own unique vision to the story, but our goal was to capture the spirit of SLEIGHT and do it justice. I think we did just that.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

From the producer of GET OUT, SLEIGHT was directed by breakout filmmaker J.D. Dillard<\/strong>, and co-written with Alex Theurer<\/strong>,\u00a0and features a diverse cast including stars Jacob Latimore (Maze Runner), Dul\u00e9 Hill (Ballers), and Seychelle Gabriel (Falling Skies), along with Storm Reid (the upcoming Ava DuVernay film A Wrinkle in Time), Sasheer Zamata, and Cameron Esposito.<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Sleight’\u00a0will be released in theaters on April 28, 2017.<\/p>\n
