Coming out this week is the comedy “Going In Style,”<\/strong> starring Oscar winners Morgan Freeman<\/strong> (\u201cMillion Dollar Baby\u201d), Michael Caine<\/strong> (\u201cThe Cider House Rules,\u201d \u201cHannah and Her Sisters\u201d) and Alan Arkin<\/strong> (\u201cLittle Miss Sunshine\u201d)<\/p>\n

Directed by Zach Braff<\/strong> (\u201cGarden State\u201d) from a screenplay by Theodore Melfi<\/strong> (\u201cHidden Figures,\u201d \u201cSt. Vincent\u201d),
\nFreeman, Caine, and Arkin star as lifelong buddies Willie, Joe and Al, who decide to buck retirement and step off the straight-and-narrow for the first time in their lives when their pension fund becomes a corporate casualty, in director Zach Braff\u2019s comedy.<\/p>\n

Desperate to pay the bills and come through for their loved ones, the three risk it all by embarking on a daring bid to knock off the very bank that absconded with their money.<\/p>\n

The film also stars two-time Oscar nominee Ann-Margret<\/strong> (\u201cTommy,\u201d \u201cCarnal Knowledge\u201d) as Annie, a grocery cashier who\u2019s been checking Al out in more ways than one and Joey King<\/strong> (\u201cWish I Was Here\u201d), as Joe\u2019s whip-smart granddaughter, Brooklyn. John Ortiz<\/strong> (\u201cSilver Linings Playbook\u201d) stars as Jesus, a man of unspecified credentials who agrees to show the guys the ropes, and Peter Serafinowicz<\/strong> (\u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d) as Joe\u2019s former son-in-law, Murphy, whose pot clinic connections may finally prove useful; with Oscar nominee Matt Dillon<\/strong> (\u201cCrash\u201d) as FBI Agent Hamer; and Christopher Lloyd<\/strong> (\u201cBack to the Future\u201d trilogy) as the guys\u2019 lodge buddy, Milton.<\/p>\n

How do you connect with your character?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan Freeman:<\/strong> You don\u2019t forget what you\u2019ve done in life. Been there, done that, knew all about it.<\/p>\n

What is a senseless act that you have done to others?<\/strong>

\nMorgan Freeman:<\/strong> I don’t know if I have done anything to literally change the course of anyone’s life but you get to a spot where people come to you for help and if you give the help, hopefully you change the course of their life and maybe you didn’t.<\/p>\n

What would you say to yourself if you were in your 20s?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan Freeman:<\/strong> When I was 20, I was in the military. If I could see my 20-year-old self, I would say, \u2018Your dreams are about to come true.\u2019 I never had one that didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

What kept you going when you were struggling as an actor?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morgan Freeman: <\/strong>I can think of two or three things that encourage you to keep working. One is sometimes when it\u2019s at the very limits of your endurance, I remember finding a $20 bill on the middle of the street on Broadway. It\u2019s like, \u2018Oh! It\u2019s gonna be my lucky day.\u2019 Friends would say, \u2018No, no. You can\u2019t quit.\u2019 The other one is just total embarrassment of driving a cab in New York and having somebody I know get in it. I was on the very verge of going to the Taxi & Limousine Service to get a chauffeur\u2019s license when I got a job from Paul Newman. You just gotta keep going.<\/p>\n
