VH1 has announced that it will premiere its new scripted series \u201cDaytime Divas\u201d<\/strong> on June 5th premiere.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaytime Divas\u201d is inspired by Star Jones<\/strong>\u2019 2011 book Satan\u2019s Sisters\u2026 A Novel of Fiction set behind the scenes of a long-running daytime television show, chronicling the fireworks that erupt daily between the five female co-hosts. On screen, they are best friends with five very different points of view, but behind the scenes, they inhabit a world of power struggles, cat fights and cocktails.<\/p>\n

The cast stars Vanessa Williams<\/strong>, who will play the role of \u2018Maxine\u2019 \u2013 the creator\/host of the popular talk show \u2018The Lunch Hour;\u2019 Tichina Arnold<\/strong> (\u201cSurvivor\u2019s Remorse\u201d) as \u2018Mo,\u2019 Chloe Bridges<\/strong> (\u201cThe Carrie Diaries\u201d) as \u2018Kibby,\u2019 Camille Guaty<\/strong> (\u201cScorpion\u201d) as \u2018Nina\u2019 and Fiona Gubelmann<\/strong> (\u201cWilfred\u201d) as \u2018Heather\u2019 all of whom play co-hosts on the fictional daytime series. McKinley Freeman<\/strong> (\u201cHit The Floor\u201d) has also been cast as \u2018Shawn,\u2019 Maxine\u2019s son and \u2018The Lunch Hour\u2019 producer.<\/p>\n

Rounding out the cast in series regular, recurring and guest starring roles are Norm Lewis, Eve, Tasha Smith, La La Anthony, Janet Mock, Kelly Osbourne, Debby Ryan<\/strong> and Scott Evans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Chris Alberghini<\/strong> and Mike Chessler<\/strong> (\u201cAwkward,\u201d \u201c90210\u201d) are showrunners as well as executive producers. They are represented by Paradigm and Stephanie Davis at Wetdog Entertainm<\/p>\n

Executive producers for \u2018Daytime Divas\u2019 are Josh Berman<\/strong> (\u201cDrop Dead Diva,\u201d \u201cCSI\u201d), Star Jones<\/strong> (TV personality, advocate, author & attorney), Suzanne de Passe<\/strong> (\u201cThe Temptations,\u201d \u201cLonesome Dove\u201d), Madison Jones<\/strong>, and Susan Levison<\/strong>. Writers for the series are Amy Engelberg<\/strong> and Wendy Engelberg<\/strong>, who also serve as executive producers. Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler are also executive producers. Suzanne Coston<\/strong> serves as co-executive producer. The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television.<\/p>\n
