Following the 40th anniversary panel on Thursday and the \u201cStar Wars: The Last Jedi\u201d panel on Friday, the Star Wars Celebration convention in Orlando held a\u00a0\u201cStar Wars Rebels\u201d<\/strong> panel on Saturday, where the trailer\u00a0for Season 4 was shown for the first time.<\/p>\n

Executive producer Dave Filoni<\/strong> confirmed that the upcoming fourth season of the Disney XD animated series will also be the final one, stating\u00a0\u201cI firmly believe that each generation needs to have their own piece of \u2018Star Wars\u2019\u00a0and this show, for a lot of kids growing up with it, is as much a piece of \u2018Star Wars\u2019\u00a0as any of the movies.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Filoni says the plan is to finish the story on a high note rather than risk a premature cancellation as what happened with \u201cStar Wars: The Clone Wars.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series centers on\u00a0an orphaned boy named Ezra Bridger, a fallen Jedi named Kanan Jarrus, and the misfit crew of the Ghost: pilot Hera Syndulla, surly droid Chopper, reformed bounty hunter Sabine Wren, and mercenary muscle Zeb Orellios.<\/p>\n

Also appearing on stage were\u00a0the voice actors Freddie Prinze Jr.<\/strong> (Kanab Jarrus), Vanessa Marshall<\/strong> (Hera), Taylor Gray<\/strong> (Ezra), Steven Blum<\/strong> (Zeb Orrellos) and Tiya Sircar<\/strong> (Sabine).<\/p>\n

The final 15 episodes will serve as a bridge to the events seen in last year\u2019s standalone film \u201cRogue One,\u201d as well as \u201cA New Hope.\u201d It will\u00a0also include more characters from\u00a0the films, with Genevieve O\u2019Reilly<\/strong>, who played Mon Mothma in\u00a0Rogue One<\/em>, returning to the series to voice the Rebel leader once again. \u201cMon Mothma has always been pretty level, but you might see her get a little fiery for once,\u201d<\/strong> Filoni says. \u201cShe\u2019s a leader for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Forest Whitaker<\/strong> will also return to the show and reprise his \u201cRogue One\u201d role as the insurgent Saw Gerrera, partnered with his alien co-pilot Idrio Two-Tubes.<\/p>\n

Following the panel, fans inside the theater were treated to the premiere of the 1st episode, Heroes of Mandalore Part 1.<\/p>\n
