His defense was funded by the nascent National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and led by Darrow (Crowe).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNarcos\u201d helmer <strong>Jose Padilha<\/strong> is directing from a script written by <strong>Max Borenstein<\/strong> and <strong>Rodney Barnes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Arc-of-Justice-A-Saga-of-Race-Civil-Rights-and-Murder-in-the-Jazz-Age.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-98452\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 204 300'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Arc-of-Justice-A-Saga-of-Race-Civil-Rights-and-Murder-in-the-Jazz-Age-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Mark Gordon Company will handle the financing with Gordon, Borenstein, <strong>Hawk Koch<\/strong>, and <strong>Matt Jackson<\/strong> producing the film and Josh Clay Phillips overseeing the production.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oyelowo most recently starred as King Seretse Khama of Botswana in Fox Searchlight\u2019s \u201cA United Kingdom,\u201d <\/strong>directed by<strong> Amma Asante<\/strong>. He will be seen next in the latest film in the \u201cCloverfield\u201d franchise, opposite <strong>Gugu Mbatha-Raw<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Crowe, whose upcoming film is <strong>\u201cThe Mummy\u201d<\/strong> as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, is no stranger to biopics, having portrayed boxer Jimmy Braddock in \u201cCinderella Man\u201d and mathematician John Nash in \u201cA Beautiful
