Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for Cult of Chucky<\/strong>, the seventh film in the long-running Child\u2019s Play franchise.<\/p>\n

Cult of Chucky is set to arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on October 3 in addition to a brand-new collection of all seven films in the franchise.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Don Mancini,<\/strong>\u00a0who has written all seven films in the series and directed the previous two,\u00a0Cult of Chucky<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0brings back original\u00a0Child\u2019s Play<\/em>\u00a0cast member Alex Vincent<\/strong> (Child\u2019s Play<\/em>,\u00a0Wait Until Spring, Bandini<\/em>) as Andy Barclay along with Oscar\u00ae<\/sup>-nominee Jennifer Tilly (Curse of Chucky<\/em>,\u00a0Monsters, Inc.<\/em>) as Chucky\u2019s bloodthirsty bride, Tiffany and Fiona Dourif<\/strong> (Messenger<\/em>, \u201cTrue Blood\u201d) as Nica with her father Brad Dourif<\/strong> (The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers<\/em>,\u00a0Halloween<\/em>) returning as the voice of Chucky, the homicidal plaything inhabited by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray.<\/p>\n

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic \u201ctool\u201d to facilitate his patients\u2019 group sessions \u2014 an all-too-familiar \u201cGood Guy\u201d doll with an innocently smiling face \u2014 a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn\u2019t crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky\u2019s now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child\u2019s Play, races to Nica\u2019s aid. But to save her he\u2019ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar\u00ae-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky\u2019s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.<\/p>\n
