During the 2017 American Black Film Festival (ABFF), Fox Searchlight Pictures brought down the cast of director and producer Amanda Lipitz\u2019s<\/strong> inspiring documentary STEP<\/strong>, featuring Blessin Giraldo, Cori Grainger, Tayla Solomon, Gari McIntyre<\/strong> and Paula Dofat. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The film will hit theaters on August 4.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

STEP documents the senior year of a girls\u2019 high-school step dance team against the background of inner-city Baltimore. As each one tries to become the first in their families to attend college, the girls strive to make their dancing a success against the backdrop of social unrest in the troubled city.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The production also received generous support from Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Baltimore Ravens. The film world premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to sold out screenings with show-stopping performances by the team, who were greatly supported by the local Park City community.<\/p>\n

While at the festival, Blackfilm.com had the opportunity to chat with the cast as they were making their rounds throughout their time there.<\/p>\n
