We took full advantage of the remarkable advances in technology to add new dimensions to both the\u00a0\u00a0visual and the audio bringing it to a whole new level.\u00a0 \u00a0 Even though <strong>Thriller <\/strong>was shot traditionally, I was able to use the 3-D creatively.\u00a0 Let me just warn you, there is a rather shocking surprise in there!\u201d<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Michael-Jackson-Thriller-3D-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignleft size-medium wp-image-101106\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 201'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Michael-Jackson-Thriller-3D-2-300x201.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>John Branca and John McClain,\u00a0 co-executors of the Estate of Michael Jackson said, \u201cMichael Jackson\u00a0 made <strong>Thriller<\/strong> a rich theatrical experience:\u00a0 fun, funny,\u00a0 scary and wildly entertaining.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No one before or since has made anything like it. \u00a0<strong>Michael Jackson\u2019s Thriller 3D<\/strong> is a modern day technical enhancement of his and John Landis\u2019 original vision,\u00a0 and I think fans will love it.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>From the beginning Michael Jackson and John Landis set out to produce <strong>Thriller<\/strong> with the aesthetics of a feature film.\u00a0 Michael was a fan of An American Werewolf In London, and called Landis to collaborate on the project. \u00a0Academy Award-winning make-up artist Rick Baker was brought in for the elaborate prosthetic transformation of Michael and the cast.\u00a0 Michael Peters collaborated with Michael on the choreography. \u00a0John Branca, Michael\u2019s attorney at the time and now the co-executor of his Estate with John McClain, worked out a deal with MTV and Showtime for a first of its kind \u201cmaking of\u201d documentary, <strong>Making of Michael Jackson\u2019s Thriller<\/strong>, to offset the cost of making the short film.<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Michael-Jackson-and-John-Landis-on-Thriller-set.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-101107\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 224'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Michael-Jackson-and-John-Landis-on-Thriller-set-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Thriller<\/strong> premiered at the AVCO Theatre in Los Angeles in 1983, and it sold out every night for three weeks.
