Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment have released the new trailer for their upcoming comedy Father Figures<\/strong>, starring Owen Wilson and Ed Helms<\/strong> and marking the directorial debut of veteran cinematographer Lawrence Sher<\/strong> (\u201cThe Hangover\u201d films).<\/p>\n

Wilson and Helms are Kyle and Peter Reynolds, brothers whose eccentric mother raised them to believe their father had died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out together to find their real father, and end up learning more about their mother than they probably ever wanted to know.<\/p>\n

The film also stars J.K. Simmons<\/strong> (\u201cWhiplash\u201d), comedian Katt Williams<\/strong>, NFL Hall of Fame quarterback-turned-actor Terry Bradshaw, Ving Rhames<\/strong> (the \u201cMission Impossible\u201d films), Harry Shearer<\/strong> (\u201cThe Simpsons\u201d), and Oscar nominee June Squibb<\/strong> (\u201cNebraska\u201d), with Oscar winner Christopher Walken<\/strong> (\u201cThe Deer Hunter\u201d), and Oscar nominee Glenn Close<\/strong> (\u201cAlbert Nobbs,\u201d \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d) as the twins\u2019 mother.<\/p>\n

Sher directed from a screenplay by Justin Malen (\u201cOffice Christmas Party\u201d). The film was produced by Academy Award nominee Ivan Reitman (\u201cUp in the Air\u201d), Ali Bell (\u201cDraft Day\u201d), and Academy Award nominees Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove (\u201cThe Blindside\u201d). Serving as executive producers were Tom Pollock, Scott Parish, Chris Cowles, Chris Fenton, and Timothy M. Bourne.<\/p>\n

Sher\u2019s behind-the-scenes team included director of photography John Lindley (\u201cSt. Vincent\u201d), production designer Stephen H. Carter (art director, \u201cBirdman\u201d), editor Dana E. Glauberman (\u201cDraft Day\u201d), and two-time Oscar nominated costume designer Julie Weiss (\u201cFrida,\u201d \u201cTwelve Monkeys\u201d). The music was composed by Rob Simonsen (\u201cFoxcatcher\u201d).<\/p>\n

\u201cFather Figures\u201d will open in theaters on December 22, 2017. An Alcon Entertainment presentation, a Montecito Picture Company Production, \u201cFather Figures\u201d will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company. This film has been rated R for language and sexual references throughout.<\/p>\n
