Candler previously served as the producing director in season two of the series, and Garnes was co-executive producer.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Candler and Garnes, DuVernay\u2019s season three creative production team for \u201cQueen Sugar\u201d will also include <strong>DeMane Davis<\/strong> (\u201cLift\u201d), who has been named a producer and will take over Candler\u2019s former role as producing director. The 10\/3 episode averaged 1.737 million viewers in Live+Same Day viewing, up +9% versus the summer finale on 8\/2, and ranked as the most-watched episode since the season two premiere on 6\/20\/17. She joined the series as a director in season one, handpicked by DuVernay to be part of the show\u2019s all-female directorial team. Prior to \u201cQueen Sugar,\u201d Candler\u2019s award-winning film \u201cHellion\u201d played in competition at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, and she was a participant at the Sundance Creative Producing Lab. She is also a grant recipient of the San Francisco Film Society\/Kenneth Rainin Foundation. Previously, he was executive producer of the DuVernay-directed feature film \u201cSelma,\u201d which was Oscar\u00ae-nominated for Best Picture and won for Best Original Song. He also produced the film \u201cMiddle of Nowhere,\u201d which was written and directed by DuVernay and won the John Cassavetes Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. Garnes\u2019 television credits also include \u201cUnderground,\u201d \u201cBeing Mary Jane,\u201d \u201cThe Game\u201d and \u201cHouse of Payne,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n<p>Davis previously served as part of DuVernay\u2019s all-female directorial team in season two of \u201cQueen Sugar.\u201d She has written and directed commercials and independent films. Her two feature films premiered in dramatic competition at the Sundance Film Festival, including \u201cLift,\u201d starring Kerry Washington, which was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards. Whitfield (\u201cMistresses\u201d) as trusted Bordelon family friend Remy Newell; Timon Kyle Durrett (\u201cSingle Ladies\u201d) as Charley\u2019s estranged husband and pro basketball player Davis West; Nicholas L. Ashe (\u201cThe Lion King\u201d National Tour) as Charley and Davis\u2019 teenage son, Micah; Ethan Hutchison (\u201cThe Path\u201d) as Ralph Angel\u2019s son, Blue; and Bianca Lawson (\u201cRogue\u201d) as Darla, Blue\u2019s mother who battles drug addiction. Additionally, guest star Henry G.
