At the inaugural Freeform Summit today in Los Angeles, the network released a brand new sneak peek at the upcoming series Marvel\u2019s Cloak & Dagger. The pilot episode was directed by\u00a0Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball\u00a0and\u00a0Beyond the Lights)<\/i><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The series will premiere on Thursday, June 7 (8:00 \u2013 10:00 p.m. EDT\/PDT).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marvel\u2019s Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved Marvel characters. Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul. Once a privileged little girl, Tandy Bowen watched as her family was destroyed by a disastrous storm that uprooted her life. Now in her late teens, an unexpected encounter with a boy named Tyrone sparks a life changing event. Young Tyrone Johnson wanted nothing more than to prove he was fearless. But when everything he held close was taken away, life taught Tyrone to be afraid. Now older and more sheltered, Tyrone closes himself off. But when he meets a girl named Tandy his life changes forever.<\/p>\n

Aubrey Joseph<\/strong> (The Night Of, Run All Night) and former Disney Channel star Olivia Holt<\/strong> (I Didn\u2019t Do It) have been cast as Cloak & Dagger, playing the title heroes, Tyrone Johnson, a.k.a. Cloak and Tandy Bowen, a.k.a. Dagger.<\/p>\n

Also cast in the series are Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, James Saito<\/strong>, and J.D. Evermore<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan in the pages of Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man, Cloak & Dagger have fought alongside the X-Men, the Runaways, Doctor Strange and even Captain America\u2019s Secret Avengers during the first Civil War event.<\/p>\n

The series is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Joe Pokaski (\u201cUnderground,\u201d \u201cHeroes\u201d) serves as showrunner and executive producer; Jeph Loeb (\u201cMarvel\u2019s The Punisher,\u201d \u201cMarvel\u2019s The Defenders\u201d), Marvel\u2019s head of Television, and Jim Chory (\u201cMarvel\u2019s The Punisher,\u201d \u201cMarvel\u2019s The Defenders\u201d) also serve as executive producers.<\/p>\n
