Lindelof on Tuesday posted a letter to fans in which he laid out his vision for the series, which he said will not be a re-telling of the story from the original graphic novel, but rather a new story in the same world with new characters set in the present day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Damon-Lindelof.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-39525\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 216 300'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Damon-Lindelof-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSome of the characters will be unknown,\u201d<\/strong> he said. <strong>\u201cNew faces. We also intend to revisit the past century of Costumed Adventuring through a surprising yet familiar set of eyes\u2026and it is here we will be taking our greatest risks.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>King previously appeared on<strong> \u201cThe Leftovers,\u201d<\/strong> the HBO drama series co-created by Lindelof and Tom Perrotta, based on Perrotta\u2019s novel of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her role on \u201cThe Leftovers,\u201d King\u2019s other notable television roles include starring in the critically-acclaimed Netflix series <strong>\u201cSeven Seconds,\u201d TNT\u2019s \u201cSouthland,\u201d<\/strong> and the ABC anthology drama <strong>\u201cAmerican Crime,\u201d<\/strong> the latter of which won her two Emmys.
