The show premieres in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The series will see Union reprise her role of Syd Burnett, sister of Martin Lawrence\u2019s Marcus Burnett and a DEA agent last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Gabrielle-Union-Bad-Boys.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-expand=\"600\" class=\"lazyload alignright size-medium wp-image-111406\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;charset=utf-8,%3Csvg xmlns%3D'http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg' viewBox%3D'0 0 300 271'%2F%3E\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.blackfilm.com\/read\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Gabrielle-Union-Bad-Boys-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Syd Burnett, last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, now is an LAPD detective and can pursue all the pleasures Los Angeles has to offer and leave her past behind. But things will get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), learns that Syd\u2019s unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret. McKenna is also a working mom who can\u2019t help but look at Syd\u2019s freedom with some grass-is-greener envy. These two have totally different lifestyles and approaches, but they both are at the top of their fields in this action-packed, character-driven procedural.<\/p>\n<p>Also part of the cast are <strong>Ernie Hudson, Zach Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin<\/strong>, and <strong>Zach McGowan<\/strong>. Hudson is playing Syd\u2019s father while McPartlin is on board as Alba\u2019s husband.<\/p>\n<p>In Bad Boys II, Syd was romantically involved with Marcus\u2019 partner, Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey (Will Smith).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bad Boys II<\/strong> was released in theaters in 2003, a sequel to the 1995 original film, which went on to\u00a0gross $273 million worldwide (the first film earned $141 million). It starred <strong>Will Smith and Martin Lawrence<\/strong> plus <strong>Jordi Moll\u00e0, Peter Stormare, Theresa Randle<\/strong> and <strong>Joe Pantoliano<\/strong>.
