December 2005
Week of December 19th through December 23rd

A BOATLOAD OF ENTERTAINMENT!!
SO MANY FILMS TO END THE 2005 YEAR

As Christmas and the New Year approaches, it's time to end the year with so many films. Practically every genre you can think of has a film coming out this week with some only coming out just to qualify for any Oscar considerations. While Steven Spielberg (Munich), Terrence Malick (The New World) and Woody Allen (Match Point) have what most are considering the best work in years, Jennifer Aniston (Rumor Has It) and Heath Ledger (Casanova) hope that you will want to see something romantic. Jim Carrey (Fun With Dick and Jane) and Johnny Knoxville (The Ringer) will want to make you laugh your butt off while Steve Martin (Cheaper By The Dozen 2)hopes you do the same, but with your kids in tow. If you need a thriller that will haunt you for days, there's a small film called Wolf Creek that you won't forget. Either way, there's plenty of films out already for you to choose what's best for the holidays. Enjoy!!!

Reviews

Latest Review Additions:

King Kong (in Film )
Though the film could have been shortened to some extent, the story is still intact and it’s got all that one would want – a thrill, some romance, and plenty of excitement.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (in Film )
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’ is a grand success.  It entertains on all levels with a skillful blending of story and incredible visual effects.

Brokeback Mountain (in Film )
Brokeback Mountain is a great film that puts a different spin on a universal theme. I firmly believe that open-minded adults can watch this film and appreciate it artistically.

Rent (in Film )
Nearly ten years later, the original actors have made “Rent” into an amazing, heartfelt and electrifying film.
Just Happy to be Here (in Film )

Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire (in Film )
I urge you to view this magical creation, bask in its creative ambiance, and see a perfect dream unravel before your eyes.
Jarhead (in Film )
Entertainment value is a must in any film and that is the one area that Jarhead comes up short. It simply drags in too many places.
Doom (in Film )
Doom is a far more accomplished film. Granted, my expectations were extremely low, but that doesn't take away from the fact that the filmmakers made a decent film.
North Country (in Film )
North Country is a gripping, emotionally packed stunner of a drama that easily contends as the best film of 2005.
Good Night and Good Luck (in Film )
Good Night, and Good Luck is a major artistic achievement by Clooney and easily one of the best films of 2005.
