Don Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejiofor set for Kasi Lemmons' film on radio DJ Petey Greene.

Back in October of 2005, blackfilm.com reported that Terrence Howard would star in the film, Talk to Me, along with Don Cheadle. Click here for that report.

Variety is now reporting, months later that Cheadle and Chiwetel Ejoifor will star in the film. While we are not sure whether Howard is still involved in the film, all of the other information reported coincides with what we had already mentioned.

"Talk to Me" is a biopic about an ex-con turned DJ who became a prominent voice for the D.C. black community during the 1960s.

Variety says Cheadle will play Ralph Waldo "Petey" Green, who with his producer, Dewey Hughes (Ejiofor), fought to stay on the air at a white-owned station during the civil rights movement.

Kasi Lemmons (Eve's Bayou, Caveman's Valentine) will direct from a script written by Michael Genet with revisions from Rick Famuyiwa and Lemmons.

Focus Features has picked up domestic rights from Sidney Kimmel Entertainment Production is scheduled for June.
