BUCK HENRY SCREENWRITING SCHOLARSHIP - The American Film institute offers two $500 scholarships to support work of students enrolled in Screenwriting Course of Study. Sold or optioned scripts ineligible. Contact: (213) 856-7690.

HBO SHORT FILM COMPETITION - Films are screened and the winner chosen during the Acapulco Black Film Festival (June 5-10). Films directed by person of African descent that are 30 minutes in length or shorter are eligible for this competition. HEART OF FILM SCREENPLAY COMPETITION - Call for entries. Two categories: feature length adult/mature themes & feature length children/family themes.
